Overview
We’re excited to showcase your products to thousands of McLane convenience stores across the country! Membership in this program has the potential to grow your wholesale business exponentially and we’re thrilled to offer your brand this opportunity.
The below highlights what you can expect from participating in the McLane Emerging Brands program.
Product onboarding
We’ll first upload your product data into the McLane catalog. Please follow these steps in your Mable Seller Portal to complete this process:
- Agree to a new contract specific to the McLane program
- Upload your product data to McLane
- Ship one (1) case of product to McLane for quality assurance
For full details, please see Brand facing FAQ - McLane data QA
Note that not all of your products may be eligible for the program at this time, but we are working to make as many of them purchasable as possible.
Receiving orders
For the most part, fulfilling McLane customer orders will be similar to how regular Mable drop ship orders are fulfilled today:
- McLane's customers will order via their McLane systems
- Those orders will be routed to you via the Mable Seller Portal
- Accept the PO and create a shipping label and/or enter the tracking number once your item has shipped
- We'll pay you on your terms like we do other orders
Mable will reach out when we know a McLane customer is interested in carrying your products. We’ll let you know how many orders we can expect and in what time frame to help you with inventory forecasting.
Orders from McLane customers will appear alongside your other POs under Orders
in your Mable Seller Portal with a (McLane)
in the customer name.
Please fulfill these orders within 2 business days via UPS or FedEx, including the McLane packing slip in your shipment. See Operational requirements below for further operational requirements.
Additional operational requirements
McLane's convenience stores have specific operational requirements that you must follow. Failure to do so may result in your removal from the program.
The following is also detailed in the McLane program contract you agree to at the beginning of the Product onboarding process:
- Ship within 2 business days: Provide tracking numbers within 2 business days of receiving a PO to prevent an automatic cancellation.
- Keep cancellation rates under 5%: Maintain a low cancellation rate to stay in the program. Items out of stock may result in an order cancellation.
- Reliable shipping: Choose reliable carriers such as UPS and FedEx for safe deliveries, avoiding USPS.
- Packaging contents: Always include McLane's packing slip (downloadable from the seller portal), and please, no marketing materials in any packaging.
- Changes and notices: Inform us 60 days in advance for price changes, and 30 days for product changes.
- Data accuracy: Ensure accurate product data in the seller portal; we will apply stricter quality assurance to inaccurate data.
- Minimal contact: Do not initiate direct contact with McLane customers without permission; let us know if they contact you.
- Pricing: Set your prices at the base wholesale levels, without including shipping costs. Remember, these buyers cover the shipping costs.
- Auditing: Mable will periodically audit McLane partnership transactions to ensure, among other things, that you are appropriately remitting taxes and fees where required
- Replacement shipments: If a replacement shipment is requested (because an item was damaged in transit, for example), please ship those replacements within 2 business days of the replacement request.
