Overview
We’re excited to onboard your products into McLane’s Emerging Brands catalog, viewable by thousands of convenience stores across the country! These stores have strict requirements for data quality and Mable’s goal is to set you up for success.
There are two parts to the data submission process:
- Data upload: Review and upload your product data to McLane
- Data quality assurance (QA): Ship a full case of one (1) SKU to be physically scanned for data accuracy
Failing data QA has a penalty: instead of shipping one case, you’ll need to finance shipping a full case of each SKU you’d like to sell to McLane customers. It’s important we get your data right!
1. Data upload: Review and upload your product data
As part of the product onboarding process, Mable will upload data for each of your SKUs based on what is entered in the Mable seller portal.
If you find any inaccuracies, please email us at support@meetmable.com to expedite your data changes.
Step 1: Download your McLane data CSV
You’ll find a download link in the seller portal after you've accepted the McLane contract. This CSV contains the data we expect to send to McLane.
Step 2: Review the CSV fields
Please find below an explanation of each field in the McLane CSV. Note that not all of the below fields are currently reflected in the Mable Seller portal.
-
Excluded from McLane Upload:
- Some items are not eligible for sale on the McLane Emerging brands program. If a line item is excluded, the reasoning will be displayed here.
- If there are items in your catalog you’d like to withhold from the McLane program, please let us know and we’ll mark them as such.

On Food Traceability List
- The Food Traceability List (FTL) identifies the foods for which additional traceability records are required. Additional record keeping requirements are outlined in the Food Traceability Final Rule and are intended to allow for faster identification and rapid removal of potentially contaminated food from the market, resulting in fewer foodborne illnesses and/or deaths.
- Please find items on the Food Traceability List here: https://www.fda.gov/food/food-safety-modernization-act-fsma/food-traceability-list
- And more FAQs here: https://www.fda.gov/food/food-safety-modernization-act-fsma/frequently-asked-questions-fsma-food-traceability-rule
- If your products contain items on the FTL, please ensure your business has the paperwork ready to handle any inquiries that may arise.

Step 3: Email us at support@meetmable.com to make changes
Email us at support@meetmable.com to work through updates and/or questions. Please list the fields you’d like to update in your email and note what their new values should be.
-
We’ll update your data for you - the seller portal doesn’t currently support all data fields at this time
-
Once we’ve updated your data, we’ll have you redownload the McLane CSV to ensure everything looks correct
-
If correct, hit the
Confirm
button in the Mable Seller Portal and your data will be submitted to McLane.
2. Data quality assurance (QA)
After your product data is uploaded, you are required to ship one (1) full case worth of product to McLane for data QA. Mable's Support team will inform you during the data upload process which product case you need to ship.
The team at McLane uses a machine to scan and weigh your case and items to verify the data in your CSV is entered correctly. Once it has been QA’d, your case will be redistributed to McLane sales team members to sample and recommend to their customers.
QA failure penalty: Mable will notify you and work with you to fix any problems that arise during QA. You will then be required to ship a case for each SKU you’d like to sell to McLane customers. Once the cases pass QA, they will be made available for sale.
Once this step is complete, you’re all set! We look forward to promoting you at NACS.
