This article provides an overview of the Messaging feature on Endless Aisle and Mable Marketplace.
NOTE: Please keep in mind that the messaging feature is designed to help you build and maintain existing relationships with retailers who have previously placed an order or sample request with your brand— rather than as a prospecting tool. Suppliers cannot message buyers who have not purchased or previously requested a sample from them.
With the messaging feature, suppliers can:
- Send and Receive messages from their customers
- Interact with retailers who place sample requests or orders
- Set response reminders and notifications at various intervals
- View orders specific to the retailer within the message thread
Please note that the messaging feature is only available on Mable Marketplace and UNFI Endless Aisle. It is not available on McLane Emerging Brands or US Foods Direct.
To access and respond to messages simply:

Click the message icon in the top right corner of your Seller Portal homepage.
2. This will bring you to the Messages page where you will be able to view both unread/new and previous messages from customers.
To respond to a customer's message simply click on the specific retailer message thread on the left hand side to open the thread and type your response.
Setting Reminders:
- Within each message thread, you can also set reminders at specific intervals where you will be notified via email to respond to their message after the selected time.
- To set a reminder for a specific email thread, select ‘Remind me’ in the upper right hand corner of the conversation thread and select the preferred time interval from the dropdown menu.
Leaving a conversation/ message thread:
- If you have multiple users on your account, you can also leave conversations by clicking the 3 dots in the top right hand corner and select ‘Leave conversation.’ By leaving the conversation, the conversation thread will no longer appear in your messages page. The other members of your account will still be able to see the messages. At least one user on your account is required to remain in the messaging channel.
Additional guidelines & tips:
- If there are unread or new messages, a red dot will appear next to the messaging icon.
- Within each conversation you can view the orders specific to that buyer by clicking ‘ View orders’ within the conversation
- When a customer sends you a message, you will also be notified via email that a message is waiting for you
- Suppliers cannot start a message thread with a buyer unless they have previously received an order, sample request, or message from the specific buyer
- Once a message thread has been opened with a retailer, you can message them anytime.
- Please be prompt in responding to retailers messages.
