US Foods Direct supports a diverse customer base- ranging from independent restaurants, regional and national chains, healthcare, education and hospitality. The goal of US Foods is to provide an endless aisle of offerings, enhancing and expanding the more traditional food service case offerings.
Direct allows customers to try and buy with smaller case or each options, as well as providing a variety of categories that better support unique customer offerings. Hospital gift shops, hotel lobby grab and go, higher education convenience offerings for students, delis, and bar and grill looking for snack and smaller pack sizes are just a few examples of where Direct fills a niche for customers.
The highest selling categories are snacks, chips and candy; sauces; spices/condiments; drinks and mixes; coffee; and nutritional supplements on the food side. Disposables and environmentally friendly options in the non-foods realm are also top sellers. Game meat and unique non-meat protein offerings provide options outside of traditional center of plate.
The Direct channel also allows for full exposure of product to US Foods customers. Where products are not stocked by a market, Direct can fill the gaps to give full visibility to other customers in areas where items are not stocked.
Current Mable vendors on Direct are seeing strong sales with Healthcare, Hospitality and Independent Restaurant customers. We look forward to more brands joining the channel and being part of the Direct Endless Aisle.
